The Program — Three Phases · 28 Weeks · 100% Online
Three sequential phases designed to prepare graduates to become eligible to apply for the NBHWC National Board Examination.
Classroom / Core Coaching Curriculum
Evidence-based curriculum integrating CBT principles, motivational interviewing, behavior change science, and health psychology. Weekly live sessions with Toivoa Coaching Academy faculty and structured peer coaching throughout.
Practicum
Complete the required coaching sessions with real clients to build practical experience and confidence. Students have access to faculty office-hour Q&A sessions for guidance throughout the practicum.
NBHWC Exam Preparation
Dedicated exam preparation through Toivoa Coaching Academy with Dr. Brenda Buffington, EdD, NBC-HWC. Intensive review sessions and practice assessments to prepare graduates to become eligible to apply for the NBHWC National Board Examination.
Completing Toivoa Coaching Academy's 28-week NBHWC-Approved Training Program prepares graduates to become eligible to apply for the NBHWC National Board Examination. The NBC-HWC credential is earned after successfully passing the exam. Toivoa, Inc. is a separate entity and is not itself NBHWC-approved.
